If your business regularly fuels at Murphy USA, Murphy Express, or QuickChek locations, the Murphy USA fuel card can help you get fuel discounts while gaining more control over fleet fuel spending. The card combines per gallon discounts, flexible plan tiers, and fleet management tools to help businesses manage fuel purchases and monitor driver activity.
However, with three different plan tiers, varying fees, and discounts that depend on fueling at Murphy locations, it’s important to understand how the program works before deciding if it’s the right option for your fleet.
In this review, we break down where the Murphy USA fuel card is accepted, how the discount program works, the fees to expect, and the controls and reporting tools available through the AtoB platform. We’ll also cover the key pros and cons and look at a few alternatives to help you decide if the Murphy USA fuel card makes sense for your business.

The Murphy USA fuel card is a business fuel card designed for companies that want fuel discounts at Murphy USA, Murphy Express, and QuickChek locations, along with fleet management tools to control and monitor fuel spending.
The card is issued through the AtoB fuel card platform and runs on the Mastercard network, allowing drivers to fuel at any station that accepts Mastercard. However, the fuel discounts are only available when drivers fuel at the 1,700+ Murphy network locations.
Murphy offers three plan tiers for businesses: Value, Velocity, and VIP. Each plan includes fuel discounts based on monthly purchase volume, with additional benefits depending on the tier, such as automatic volume tier boosts and exclusive pricing options for higher tier plans.
Because the card is managed through the AtoB platform, it also includes modern fleet controls and reporting tools. Fleet managers can set spending limits, restrict fueling by time or day, block certain merchants, and monitor transactions through detailed reporting and IFTA reports.
Where Is the Murphy USA Fuel Card Accepted?
The Murphy USA fuel card is accepted anywhere Mastercard is accepted, providing businesses with broad purchasing flexibility. However, out-of-network transaction fees apply when the card is used at stations outside of Murphy USA, Murphy Express, and QuickChek locations for both the Velocity and VIP plans. To avoid these fees, drivers should fuel at Murphy locations whenever possible.
The Murphy fuel card offers an introductory discount of 20¢ per gallon at Murphy locations for the first 12 months after opening an account.
After the introductory period, fleets can earn up to 9¢ per gallon based on their monthly fuel purchases at Murphy stations. Discount levels also vary by plan tier. The Velocity and VIP plans receive automatic volume tier increases once in-network purchase thresholds are reached, and the VIP plan offers additional exclusive pricing options. See the plan comparison table below.
